This is my new Blog which has been set up to track the progress of our building project on the Ditleff Pt Bluff. Right now, anyone can view this Blog, but shortly viewing will become restricted. No one will be allowed to view this blog nor "be an author" on this blog unless I expressly give them permission to do so. The only authors allowed as of now are myself, Judy, Iriquois, Oxman, my CFO Jim Leskody and Milne. The intention is to have one centralized location where homeowner, builder, bookeeper and architect can all communicate, view photographs, and chart the daily and weekly progress of this project in one place. Karen, I'm hoping you will figure out how to upload your digital fotos to this Blog so I can watch the site work as it progresses. This will be a much more convenient and organized way for us all to keep up on the project. Actually, if I am able to do it, it confirms the fact that it doesn't require much more than a 1st grade education to pull it off!
We are tentatively calling the project "Mar Y Sol" which means sea & sun, but more importantly it's a reference to an amazing and little known Rock n' Roll festival which I attended in an uninhabited cove on the beach in Vega Baja, PR in June of 1972 along with 3 other friends and 1000 other seriously "toasted"music fans. Showers were all communal on the beach, and clothes were most definitely optional. We danced to Santana, Allman Bros, Grateful Dead, J. Geils, etc. until sunrise every night. While drifting face up naked on a raft one morning, I fell into a Carlos Castenada-induced sleep and dreamed I was standing on a majestic Bluff nearly surrounded by dramatic 150 ft drops to the sea on all three sides. It was truly a great vision, however when I awoke, I experienced a full frontal sunburn the likes of which I wouldn't wish on even my worst enemies!
As of today, the contract has finally been completed and signed copies are being exchanged via the mail between Iriquois and myself. In addition, Jim has been in direct contact with Scotia Bank and has provided them with all the necessary documentation to open the 2 new bank accounts Karen has instructed us to open. We will be transferring funds into these accounts in the days ahead, but certainly before the 2 Sharpshooters return back from Deutschland on May 23rd.
Unless advised otherwise, I expect work to begin on Monday May 25th as promised previously by Karen. Also, I advsid Karen to let CWM know that we have selected them to manufacture our Doors & Windows, and CWM is to begin work on Shop Drawings ASAP.It looks like my next visit to the island will not take place before June 27-30th.
Good luck bro!
